Well you could bowl me over with a feather right now, but it turns out that my ankle is not sprained, it’s actually broken! I took yesterday and today off from work and a friend drove me to the health clinic 20 miles away because Rob does still have to work. And the x-ray revealed that the tip of my fibula has broken off. So I’ll be spending the next 4-6 weeks in this lovely boot.

On the plus side, other than hiking 2 miles on it immediately after breaking it in order to get out of the woods, I have been doing everything right for my ankle: lots of rest, ice, compression and elevation for the first 72 hours. And it doesn’t actually hurt that much–obviously enough to make me decide to visit the health clinic, but not so much that I’m taking any medication. But unfortunately, given that it’s my right ankle, I won’t be able to be the Designated Driver for BrewFest at the Roosevelt Arch tonight, so the blog post I had planned will have to be scrapped. Looks like I’ll be getting around to reading those books I brought! And, of course, spending more time with the wee one.

Finally getting to those books,,,
Oh my gosh! But the boot is so fashionable!
Hate the boot 🤢

Sorry to hear about the foot and now required boot issue. At least you got it taken care of and not limping around on a broken bone thinking it was a bad sprain.
If you broke off the tip of your fib, how is it that you don’t need surgery?
Because it’s non-displaced, meaning the broken piece is exactly where it should be. Just needs to rest and re-fuse.
